1. What Green Connection is
Green Connection is an online marketplace that connects homeowners in South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties) with independent landscapers. We are not a landscaping company and we do not perform landscaping work. Landscapers on the platform are independent businesses: they set their own prices through the bids they place, and they alone perform the work. By using Green Connection you agree to these terms.
2. Who can use Green Connection
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use Green Connection. By creating an account you confirm the information you give us is accurate, and that any business or license details you provide are true and current.
3. How jobs work
Homeowners post a job describing the yard work they need. Landscapers place sealed bids (each pro's price stays private from the others). When the homeowner picks a winning bid, that pro is hired. Posting a job and placing bids are always free. The agreement for the work itself is strictly between the homeowner and the landscaper.
4. Fees and payment
When a homeowner hires a landscaper, the job is paid through Green Connection using our payment processor, Stripe. The homeowner pays the winning bid amount; the landscaper receives their price less a 10% Green Connection service fee, which is our only charge and applies only to jobs that are won and paid on the platform. There is no fee to post, to bid, or to lose a bid. Prices are set by landscapers, not by us. You are responsible for your own taxes; landscapers are independent contractors and are solely responsible for reporting and paying taxes on the amounts they earn.
5. Payments, refunds & disputes
Payments are processed by Stripe and are also subject to Stripe's terms. Because the work is provided by an independent landscaper, any dispute about the work — quality, scope, timing, or a no-show — is primarily between the homeowner and the landscaper, and you agree to try to resolve it directly and in good faith first. Green Connection is not obligated to issue refunds, but where a job paid on the platform was not performed we may, at our sole discretion, help mediate or reverse a payment. Our 10% service fee may be non-refundable except where required by law. Do not initiate a card chargeback before contacting us to resolve the issue; abusive or fraudulent chargebacks may result in account suspension.
6. Keep jobs on the platform (no circumvention)
Green Connection is free to use up front because the 10% fee on completed jobs keeps the lights on. So jobs you find here must be paid here. You agree not to use Green Connection to find a job or a pro and then move the payment, hiring, or ongoing work off the platform to avoid the fee — and not to solicit or arrange off-platform payment, or exchange personal contact details, for that purpose. To support this, contact details (phone numbers and emails) are hidden in messages until a job is paid. Circumventing the platform is a breach of these terms and may result in fees owed, removal of listings or reviews, or account suspension.
7. Your account
You must give accurate information when creating an account, and you're responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything that happens on it. One person per account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the platform, harass others, circumvent our fees, provide false information, or break these terms.
8. Chat rules
The in-app chat exists to coordinate a hired job. Messages are stored so both sides have a record, offensive language is filtered automatically, contact details are hidden until the job is paid, and messages may be machine-translated for the other person. Don't use chat to harass, spam, or arrange payment outside the platform.
9. Reviews
Reviews can only be left for jobs that were actually hired and completed on the platform. Keep them honest and civil — we may remove reviews that are abusive, fake, or off-topic.
10. Independent pros — no vetting or endorsement
Landscapers are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or partners of Green Connection. We do not run background checks, verify licenses or insurance, or otherwise vet landscapers or homeowners, and we do not endorse or guarantee any user. You are responsible for deciding who you hire or work for and for taking normal precautions when someone comes to, or you visit, a property. Landscapers are solely responsible for the quality, safety, and legality of their work, including holding any licenses and insurance their trade requires.
11. No warranties
Green Connection is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any homeowner or landscaper, bid, listing, or job will meet your expectations.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Green Connection and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, property damage, or personal injury arising out of or relating to your use of the platform or any job, work, or interaction between users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform will not exceed the greater of the service fees we actually earned on the job giving rise to the claim, or US $100.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Green Connection and its owners from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, the work you perform or receive, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
14. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute with Green Connection that isn't resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction. 15. Changes
